Plant Walks
Plant walks with Water It With Love are a wonderful way to get to know your surrounding habitats. Permaculture, in practice, is to mimic the patterns of nature and to design from those patterns to the details. Let’s do a walk-about and talk all things plants!
Most clients are desiring a better connection between nature and their own homes/yards, and WIWL plant walks offer a great chance to see what grows around you that can be useful for personal healing, nurturing wildlife, regenerating the soil/land around you, and more! We do not harvest from public lands, but you’ll be able to take this information to your local nurseries/greenhouses and request to have them put into your own landscape! Whether it’s the mountain range to the grasslands, there are plenty of native plants to seek out!!
Weekends and evenings are available for plant walks. We require one week in-advance reservation. Sign up today as an individual or small group!

What you’ll find and learn about:
native plants from the many layers of the forest - from ponderosa pines and choke cherries to arnica and pussytoes!
lichen, mosses, and mushrooms - it’s not just about the herbaceous allies!
fun historical facts and uses on the many medicinal and pollinator-friendly plants of the Rockies!
Plant Walk - High Plains
The front range of Colorado offers an incredible variety of native plants to nourish the local fauna. A plant walk focused on the high plains offers abundant opportunity to learn how we can mimic nature around us to be more in alignment with the eco-systems that we are a part of. High plains flora have adapted over many years to grow in dry, arid climate, extreme winds, cold winters, and not much tree coverage. Take advantage of their years of trial and tribulations, and adapt your own garden to be more like the high plains!
Plant Walk - Urban Setting
You wouldn’t believe the amount of native plants and medicinal herbs/flowers that are dispersed through the urban jungle! Join us for a 1- or 2-hour plant walk in the inner-city and learn about the incredible plants growing around our modern city centers. You will walk away with applicable knowledge of commonly-found plants such as asclepsias tuberosa (showy milkweed), plantago minor (plantain), and achillea millefolium (yarrow).
