What to Expect:
In a two-hour consultation, we will gain insight on the client’s desires, needs, challenges or constraints, and discuss in-depth the potential solutions in a permaculture design. By the end of the zoom/phone conference meeting, we will have a great foundation for you or WIWL to create a design/plan that is ideal for your home and land. Be prepared to observe your surrounding environment and consider local resources that could be of use to complete any projects.
Questions we may ask to gain better understanding:
What is your climate, weather patterns, and local eco-systems/habitats like?
How do you desire to use the space (entertain guests, vegetable gardens, children’s area, home office, business, etc.)?
What is your desired timeline and budget to have the project completed?
Areas of interest discussed in the consultation:
Food forests, polyculture gardens, small-scale farms, urban orchards, and urban farms
Bioregional native plants, pollinator gardens, organic gardening methods, and more
Retrofitting old homes to be more energy efficient
Designing new homes to be more in alignment with permanent elements of the landscape (think sun, wind, slope, animals)
Water catchment systems, graywater systems, and purposeful hardscapes
Integrating the systems; From the compost to chicken coop to herb gardens: What goes where?
Preserving the harvest
How to obtain a yield or be productive from the land
